Four Bedfordshire Spencer Brothers

Many family histories are begin or turn on several brothers and sisters emigrating together. This is a very common tale and the Spencers documented in this site are no different. The four Spencer brothers from Bedfordshire, England emigrated from Stotfold to the Massachusetts Bay Colony during the 1630s. The brothers -- William, Thomas, Michael, and Jared (Gerard) -- probably traveled on different ships. Their brother John may also have emigrated but researchers believe he returned to England. And left out of the nice, neat tag line is the sister Elizabeth who also emigrated.[1]
