Michael Deely, also known as Michael Daly, was born in Ireland. Very little is known about him at this time.
Michael DALY and Julia O'Brien married on December 6, 1843 in the Church of Ireland (ie: Protestant) parish of St John's. Michael was a soldier in the 61st Regiment and probably lived in the communal barracks. Meanwhile, Julia (synonymous with Johanna) lived in St John's Parish. While the marriage took place in a Protestant church, their children were baptized in a Catholic church; hinting that this may have been an inter-church marriage or the marriage location may have been to satisfy the regiment.
