Muriel Louise Shay, also called Louise, was born October 27, 1905 in Towanda, Bradford County, Pennsylvania[1][2]. Her parents were Jeremiah M. Shay (1857-1937)[1] and Jane A. Grady (1859-1926). Muriel was the youngest of 14.
Muriel graduated from St. Agnes High School in Towanda in 1924.[3][4]
In 1926, Louise was a nurse, renting a room from her father at 513 Third Street in Towanda (need citation; this note from a "city directory").
Children
Muriel married Richard D. Fahey (1902-1965) and they had the following children:
- Philip J. Fahey married and had 4 children
- Frederick "Fred" Fahey married and had 5 children
- Russell Fahey married and had 3 children
In May 1977, Louise was living in Waverly, New York, as reported by The Daily Review obituary of her sister, Elizabeth L. Shay (1893-1977).
Muriel died in 1985 and is buried in the Waverly Catholic Cemetery.[5]
